In Autumn 1994, the shoelaces manufacturer, Ming-Chi Manufacturing, a small factory in middle part Taiwan, was established. The unit struggled through its tough times and is now heading toward greater scale management.

The founder of Ming-Chi Manufacturing and Machien Industry transforms the once tiny factory step by step with her unwavering characters—honesty, tenacity, responsibility, and the courage to conquer impossibilities. Finally, the industrial plant grew from 5 years, to 10 years, and then 20 years old, providing its consumers miscellaneous shoelaces, elastic straps, waxed braids, multi-sided laces, accessory braids, wire/cord protective braids, lanyards, and many related items.

Unbeknown to many as well as the founder of Machien Industry and Ming-Chi Manufacturing—Mrs. May Mei-Yun, Huang—that one day Machien Industry would reach its current scale.

During middle-school, Mrs. Huang had to leave her hometown in Tainan, Taiwan, for Taichung, a much busier city in central Taiwan, as both of her parents stopped supporting the family. Then and there, she started her life working daytime while studying at the local vocational night school.

Several years later at a friends gathering, one of the acquaintances kindly brought up the idea of “doing braiding businesses”. After discussing it with her husband—now a retired middle-school teacher—and gaining his full support, May has since then committed herself into the lace-braiding industry. There were times when the sound of a dropping needle seems to resonate in the factory. Yet, rather than giving up, she always faced those struggles with a smile on, making what Machien Industry is today.
